ot-ics-security-ramp
Educational self-study project — no code. Tracks Aner's structured OT/ICS cybersecurity ramp-up ahead of starting at an Index Ventures-backed OT/ICS/critical-infrastructure security startup (~2026-10-28), which scans and secures utility-company networks. Migrated 2026-10-06 from just-talking (previously just-talking/cyber-terminology-ramp) since it outgrew "general life/career chat" scope.
Architecture
Self-study/knowledge project, not a codebase. See CLAUDE.md for the startup context and focus-area priority order.
Conventions
- Hybrid learning approach: conceptually-rich blank domains (OT/ICS fundamentals, IR/forensics, frameworks/compliance, defensive stack) get a conversational deep-dive, one section at a time, discuss before moving on; pure vocabulary/naming gaps (vendor landscape, acronym expansion) get a quick reference pass
- Auto-update ot-ics-security-ramp/glossary and ot-ics-security-ramp/reading-list with every new term/resource covered, without asking first — just do it
- Priority order: OT/ICS protocols/fundamentals first (utility-company focus), ahead of generic defensive-stack coverage
Gotchas
- Trigger for this whole effort: interview process surfaced that Aner didn't know "RAT" or "C2" despite solid underlying concept knowledge (8200 SDR, Gita WiFi/Bluetooth security research) — a terminology/lingo gap, not a concept gap
